Maple Mountain, a class 4A school, closed the game on an 11-5 run over the final two minutes to hand the Dinos a loss in their home and season opener.
Cole Fossat led the Dinos with 19 points, including five three-pointers. Fausett added 16 points while teammate Mitch Olson chipped in five points and 10 rebounds.
The Dinos (0-1) will hit the road for eight straight games starting with the Ben Lomond Pepsi Classic starting on Thursday through Saturday.
