                                                                        •••
GOOSEBERRY RESERVOIR: (June 09) Anglers report fair to good fishing for small trout with traditional baits. Remember, the tributaries into Gooseberry Reservoir and the outflow from the dam are closed to fishing until the second Saturday in July.

                                                                        •••
HUNTINGTON GAME FARM POND: (May 23) The pond was stocked in early May with 500 9-inch rainbow trout. Because there aren’t many anglers at the pond, fishing should be good using traditional baits and popular spinners.
                                                                        •••
HUNTINGTON NORTH RESERVOIR: (June 09) On June 2, Tom Ogden fly fished from a kick boat for five hours and caught a single 14-inch wiper and ten 13-inch chubs. Tom mentioned that a friend of his had recently caught a three-pound wiper there. On May 29, Kathy Jo Martinez reported good fishing for four-inch bluegills from shore using orange Power Eggs. During her four hours at the reservoir, Kathy Jo said she didn’t see any shoreline or boat anglers catching fish.
                                                                        •••
HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR: (June 09) On June 5, Conservation Officer Wyatt Mecham said that fishing had slowed down from a week earlier. Most anglers have been fishing with nightcrawlers. On May 30, Debra Lister caught a two-pound 14-inch tiger trout using a worm cast onto the ice and dragged into the water.
                                                                        •••
JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: (June 09) On May 31, Stephine Matkin reported that in six hours, her fishing party caught only a single 12-inch splake while trolling with a Kastmaster. Stephine said that none of the four other boats at the reservoir had caught any fish.
                                                                        •••
LA SAL MOUNTAINS: (June 09) Conservation officer TJ Robertson provided fishing report for a number of waters in the La Sal Mountains.Fishing is slow on the Colorado River, apparently due to higher water levels. Anglers have reported good fishing with shrimp, squid or commercial catfish bait around mile marker 6.5 on Highway 128 and at the Moab Boat Ramp. Dark Canyon hasn’t been stocked yet. Fishing is good at Dons Lake. There aren’t many anglers out fishing the lake. The pond was stocked with 850 nine-inch rainbows in May. The fishing is picking up at Hidden Lake. Anglers report good fishing with small spinners and lures. Nightcrawlers and salmon eggs have been effective as well. On May 19, 900 nine-inch rainbows were stocked. Stocked at Medicine Lake is expected to happen this week. The fish is good at Oowah with small spinners in bright colors. Bait anglers report that nightcrawlers and salmon eggs are most effective. PowerBait in bright colors has been working as well. The pond was stocked with 1,100 nine-inch rainbow trout in May. The fishing at Warner Lake is good with small spinners. Jakes has been effective. MILLER FLAT RESERVOIR: (June 09) The U.S. Forest Service opened the gate to Millers Flat from Highway 31 on June 6. Excellent fishing is expected. Last week, DWR fisheries biologists conducted fish population sampling using gill nets and caught a 6.5-pound cutthroat trout. Biologist Calvin Black said the reservoir was populated with a large number of trout. He recommends gold Jakes or Kastmaster lures. Worms and PowerBait should work as well.

POTTERS PONDS: (June 09) The gate to Potters Ponds was opened by the U.S. Forest Service on June 6. The ponds are now accessible, but have not been stocked.
                                                                        •••
RIGHT FORK OF HUNTINGTON CREEK: (May 23) You can only fish in the fly-only zone from South Hughes Canyon to the dam. Flash floods that followed the Seeley Fire have completely wiped out the fish downstream In early May, 4,000 4-inch brown trout were planted along the creek. Barring future flash floods, the fishery may return to its pre-fire productivity in a few years.
                                                                        •••
SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: (June 09) Anglers using PowerBait have had fair fishing for small trout. Anglers using nightcrawlers or chub meat have been catching larger cutthroat trout, which have been generally inside the slot of 15-22 inches.
Conservation Officer Wyatt Mecham recommends that shoreline anglers fish the dam cove, especially on the south point opposite the state park. He says the rocky east shoreline is good too. The fishermen’s access on the west side is shallow with a lot of moss. Fishermen there are catching more chubs than trout. Anglers may want to start there and haul in a few chubs to use as bait at other parts of the reservoir. Mecham says that boaters have the advantage over shoreline anglers. The tiger trout that was caught over the Memorial Day holiday that came close to the state record was caught by an angler trolling with pop gear and a chub. Remember, tributaries are closed until the second Saturday in July.
                                                                        •••
SOUP BOWL: (May 30) The pond is now accessible in a 2WD truck. Fishing was slow last weekend. Spincasters seemed to have the best luck. The Soup Bowl hasn’t been stocked yet.
                                                                        •••
WILLOW LAKE: (June 09) On June 4, Randall Stilson fished the lake. He said he threw lures for two hours and never got a hit. He then switched to chartreuse PowerBait and caught a limit of 15-18 inch tiger trout in a half hour. Randall strongly recommends insect repellent.
                                                                        •••
WRIGLEY SPRINGS RESERVOIR: (May 30) Brandon Behling and his wife fished in the evening of May 24. Brandon reported excellent fishing using PowerBait in the early evening, and with small flies as the evening advanced.
