Brain tumor claims life of Brylee Olson

By Sun Advocate

Brylee Olson, the inspirational 3-year-old who fought a 14 month-long battle with an inoperable brain tumor, passed away on Tuesday evening.
The family announced that Brylee passed away at 8:47 p.m. surrounded by her family, according to information posted on the Brylee in 5 Facebook page.
Brylee was just two days shy of her fourth birthday.
The 3-year-old Brylee was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) back on March 6, 2013.
The community quickly rallied around Brylee as the story of her diagnosis became public. Mascots from the Utah Jazz and other well known sports along the Wasatch Front visited Brylee and her family over the course of the last year. Recently members of the community participated in a “Heart Attack” on April 22 where hearts with inspirational messages were placed all over the family’s home in Northeast Price.
The family announced on Facebook that a balloon release would take place on Wednesday evening at the Dino Mine Park in honor of Brylee’s birthday.
A funeral service for Brylee is scheduled to be held on on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Price LDS North Stake Center (449 North 100 East). The services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that people make a donation to Children and the Earth in Brylee’s name.
