With a chance to inch closer to the top of the Region 12 standings, the Carbon High softball team was tripped up after Payson defeated Carbon 13-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
Payson scored in all five innings collecting 20 hits against Carbon.
Junior Katie Basinger hit a home run for the Lady Dinos.
With the loss, Carbon is now 7-8 overall and 3-4 in Region 12 play.
