JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: (February 24) Ice fishing is no longer safe because the ice is breaking up. There is open water along the reservoir’s edge, and you can now fish from the shoreline in some areas. Anglers report slow fishing from shore.

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: (February 24) Anglers report slow fishing at the mouth of the dam arm. Anglers are catching chubs throughout the reservoir, but mostly on the south and west sides. Most fish range from eight to 14 inches, and few of them exceed the slot. Fish are biting throughout the water column. Try using small, soft plastic jigs in chartreuse or white. If you’re using bait, try chub meat, PowerBait, worms or mealworms.
There is open water on the north and south ends of the reservoir. The perimeter of the reservoir is still iced overa problem.
