Carl Dees

PRICE – Carl Frank Dees, Jr., passed away Sept. 28, 2013 in the presence of his loving wife Mary, just one day after his 64th birthday.
He was born Sept. 27, 1949 in Price to Carl Frank Dees, Sr. and Charlotte Irene Murray.
Married Amy Moffitt on Oct. 6, 1967, they later divorced. On Nov. 5, 2009, he married Mary Geralda Queiroz in Price and their vows were later renewed in Brasilia, Brasil with Mary’s family.
Carl was a member of the Carbon Lodge # 16 Free & Accepted Masons of Utah. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of East Carbon High School Class of 1967. Carl spent many years working in various coal mines in the area, but his real passion was that of a truck driver. For the past 30 years he drove truck and worked as an owner/operator while traveling across the United States.
His true love in life was riding and raising horses and eventually building his dream home on his ranch in Hiawatha with Mary. Carl was a former member of the Grassy Trail Riding Club and he shared his passion of horses with the youth. He loved the outdoors, especially camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Survived by his wife, Mary Dees, Price; daughters, Stacie Leffler, Wellington, Melynda Nealey, Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, Raelynne and Levi Colton; brothers and sisters, Barbara (Wayne) Gardner, Ill., Kenneth (Joyce) Dees, South Carolina, Carla (Lee) Pastran, Texas, Cecil (Christina) Dees, East Carbon, Calvin (Doreen) Dees, Wellington; three adopted sisters, Lisa, Cathy and Jana; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clifford Dees.
Per Carl’s wishes there will be no services and he will be cremated and his ashes scattered on the ranch. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of Carl at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
