Rose Woodbury Morley

Rose Woodbury Morley was born on Oct. 18, 1911 in St. George, to John Taylor Woodbury Jr. and Nimzar Gagosian Woodbury and died in her home Sept. 14, 2012, one month short of her 101st birthday.
Rose was the oldest daughter and second child of thirteen children. Rose married Gerald Blackham Morley on Sept. 1, 1932 and he died Sept. 27, 1959. Rose was sealed to her husband after his death in the Manti Temple in 1960. She was a widow for 53 years.
Gerald and Rose had six children: Shirley (Ferr Blackburn), Richard Henrie (Diane Bean), Ray Gerald (Sandra Craig), Carl Woodbury (Bette Hawke), Susan (Tom Tucker), and Scott Taylor (Sharon Davis.) Their posterity included six children, 36 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, and 121 great-great-grandchildren for a total posterity of 268 members.
Rose was endowed with strength, vitality, and energy, and having learned the value of hard work at an early age, she continued in that path as long as she lived. Rose will be remembered for her compassionate service, thrift, independence and devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rose was a true pioneer.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Price 4th & 5th Ward Chapel (545 E. 400 N. – Price). A viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
