TAYLORSVILLE – Our dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Anna Louise Worthen Pappas Weight, returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on her 75th Birthday on Aug. 20, 2010 after battling Alzheimers and Parkinsons for the past four years.
Born Aug. 20, 1935 to Joseph Archie and Leah Worthen in Orangeville. She was raised by her paternal Grandparents Joseph and Rasmina Worthen in Ferron Utah after the death of her mother and baby sister. Mom loved to work at Pa’s side on the family farm as she was affectionately called Tommy. She loved to ride horses and was even Emery County Rodeo Queen.She moved to Price where she met and married Ferron Pappas in Sept 1955.They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple and have four children.
After Ferron’s passing in 1986 she met and married her sweetheart LaVar Weight in Dec. 1989. They had the privilege of working together in the Jordan River Temple. Anna was a faithful, active member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. Ann was called to be Relief Society President and loved to serve the sisters in her ward. She was a woman of great compassion and was loved by all that knew her. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and entertaining friends and family especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband LaVar, Children Toni (Kimball) Johnson, Mark (Rebeca) Pappas, Dana (Jim) Hadley, Greg (Veronica) Pappas, Jeff (Hazel) Weight, , Michael Weight, Craig (Tammy) Weight, Julie (Shaun) Hicks, 28 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Hospice for Utah. Especially to mom’s nurse Paula, we are forever grateful.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am Wednesday Aug. 25, 2010, at the Taylorsville 8th Ward 1490 W. Tamarack Road (4650 S.) Taylorsville. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to services. Interment Valley View Memorial Park.
