GIGLIOTTI POND: (April 15) The good fishing for the recently-stocked, 8- to 12-inch trout continues. Aquatics Program Manager Paul Birdsey encourages anglers to practice catch-and-release fishing to maintain the current catch rate. With a deeply-hooked fish, it’s best to cut the line to avoid causing further internal injury. Read pages 36–37 in the /Utah Fishing Guidebook / for more catch-and-release tips.
HUNTINGTON CREEK: (April 15) Fly fishermen will likely experience the best catch rate with floating line, split shot on a length of leader and a #12 bead head Montana pattern.

HUNTINGTON RESERVOIR: (April 09) The bite continues to be very light. The snow cover has deepened during the week. Anglers will be challenged with alternating layers of frozen slush and ice under the fresh blanket of snow. Take an auger extension for the ice.
JOES VALLEY RESERVOIR: (April 09) The reservoir has opened. On April 6, Ryan Downard of Price fished from shore and landed a 26-inch, 7–8 pound cutbow using Gulp Bait. After taking a picture, Ryan released his trophy.
LOWER FISH CREEK: (April 15) The outflow from Scofield Reservoir has increased significantly, covering the streambed that had had been dewatered until recently. Slow fishing is expected.
MILLSITE RESERVOIR & STATE PARK: (April 15) Tom Ogden fished the reservoir on April 13 and caught only one cutthroat in 2.5 hours.

SCOFIELD RESERVOIR: (April 15) The edges are rotten, except in the dam cove. Continued ice fishing is not recommended.
STRAIGHT CANYON CREEK: (April 15) Anglers report the best fishing with fly fishing tackle, floating line, a split shot sinker clamped onto a length of leader, and a #12 bead head Montana pattern.
