PRICE – Georgia Kay Willson, age 65, left us unexpectedly but peacefully Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, with her family by her side.
She was born May 5, 1943 in Price to Violet Leona and John C. Brinkerhoff. She married Pattie B. Willson Aug. 22, 1964 in Price. Their marriage was solemnized on May 17, 1969 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had just celebrated 44 years together.
Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandma “nanny,” sister and friend.
She loved to sew, crochet, quilt, tole paint and play Bingo.
She was a member of the LDS Church and once held the position of Primary president. She had been a Boy Scout leader and had been a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She worked at the Barbizon in Provo, sewing lace, and later left there to raise her family.
She loved her family dearly and had an amazing love for her grandchildren. They were her life. She loved watching their baseball games, dance recitals and school plays.
You could always find lots of kids at Nanny’s and Grandpa’s house.
Kay is survived by her loving husband; her daughter, Patricia of Grand Junction, Colo.; her son, Carl, and wife Julie of Price; her daughter, Georgiana “Jana” of Price; and her daughter, Jennifer, and husband Tracy of Helper; her grandchildren, Andrew and Autumn of Grand Junction, Colo.; Alyssa, C.J., Breanna, Dylan, Travis and Jaydon of Price; Tanner of Price; and Jordan, Katelyn and Carley of Helper; and great-grandson, Dominick of Price. She is also survived by her sisters, Hazel Ellefson of Seattle, Wash.; Jessie May Winder of Elmo; and her identical twin, Fay Powell of Lehi; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; newborn son, James Edward; brothers, John E. Brinkerhoff and Jay Brinkerhoff; sister, Rosalie Perkins; newborn grandson, James Kyle; one niece, Gayleen Coleman; and two nephews, Michael Brinkerhoff and Terry Coleman.
We miss you so much, Mamma. We know that you are happy, free of pain and have two legs again. We love you.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. at the Price 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 303 West 500 South. Interment will be in the Cliffview Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
