ELMO – Kerry B. Nielson passed away Aug. 14, 2008 at the age of 58 at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer, which he fought ’till the end.
He was born Aug. 4, 1950 in Price to Clair T. and Beverly Tuttle Nielson. He married Vickie Nourse on Aug. 8, 1969 in Price, Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 8, 1988.
Kerry enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially with his family.
He loved Joes Valley, horseback riding, four-wheeling, rock hunting and his yearly hunting trips.
He was a member of the LDS Church and worked for Utah Power up until his retirement.
He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.
Survived by his wife, Vickie; and children, Troy C. (Nicky) Nielson of Elmo; Stephanie (Wayne) Huntsman of Ferron; Stacie (Allen) Jensen of Castle Dale; and Rebecca (Chad) Norton of Huntington; his mother, Beverly Nielson of Huntington; two brothers, Ken P. (Lynell) Nielson of Huntington; and Chris “Bettos” (Merilyn) Nielson of Orangeville; one sister, Shelly (Lewis) Gilpin of Orangeville; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Clair T. Nielson; father-in-law, Leon J. Nourse; and grandparents, Fred and Louise Tuttle.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Elmo LDS chapel, 199 East Main. A viewing will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
