LYMAN, Wyo. – Glenn Thomas, age 87, died Aug. 7, 2008 at Evanston Regional Hospital in Wyoming.
He was born Feb. 1, 1921 in Hiawatha, the son of Levi Reese and Nellie Banner Thomas. He lived in Hia-watha and attended school in Price until the 12th grade.
He married Leona Livingston Hoopes on Feb. 10, 1943 in Tampa, Fla. Their marriage was sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on Oct. 31, 1998. Leona preceded him in death. He later married Alice Cameron on Oct. 29, 1979 in Lyman, Wyo.
He spent his working career at FMC until he retired.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting, playing music and spending time working on mechanics. He was also known to be a big tease.
He is survived by his children, Glenn Allen (Rita) Thomas of Big Piney, Wyo.; Donald Dean (Jo Ann) Thomas of Mountain View, Wyo.; Burl Lee (Nancy) Thomas of Lake Wales, Fla.; Dorothy Ann (Lynn) Walk of Lyman, Wyo.; and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Thomas, of Green River; sisters, Thelma (Ramon) Madrid of Price and Nellie (Tom) Everley of Ivins; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He loved his stepchildren and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; both spouses; one son. Reese; a daughter, Susan; one great-grandson, Joseph; four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Urie LDS Stake Center. Interment followed at the Lyman Cemetery in Wyoming.
