Law enforcement officials are currently following several leads and are working to apprehend a suspect in a burglary incident that occurred early Friday morning, according to East Carbon Police Chief Sam Leonard.
The investigation is being led by city police Sgt. Phillip Holt, who according to Leonard, was called to the scene by owner/operator David Summers when he opened his shop on the morning of June 20. Leonard reported that the D&B Sinclair had allegedly been broken into, burglarized and then ransacked. “There wasn’t much missing,” said Leonard. “Just some cigarettes were listed as stolen initially, however, there was a large amount of property damage at the business.”
According to Leonard, windows were broken and electronic equipment was destroyed during the course of the alleged crime. “We are currently working on some good tips from several sources,” said Leonard. “We really hope that they work out and we can bring this case to a close in a timely and safe manner.”
