Marjean Hansen and Lt. Dave Bennion address Carbon County Dispatchers at their annual appreciation lucheon. This year’s luncheon was special however as the dispatchers along with their co-workers in Emery County have been given the Unit Citation Award.
The award given to the Utah Highway Patrol Price Communications Center and the Emery County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center for their exemplary actions displayed during the Crandall Canyon mine incident.
The Unit Citation Award is given to a unit or group for accomplishment or outstanding performance at a task or project successfully handled through teamwork and cooperation. This could be several groups working together.
The local group was nominated by Hansen and will be received by the team’s senior dispatchers at the 2008 Association of Public Safety Communications Spring Training and Awards Banquet.
