After a 20 year absence, the Miss CEU Pageant will return to the College of Eastern Utah on Thursday, Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m. at the Geary Theater.
Jill Stevens, reigning Miss Utah, and America’s Choice for Miss America, will be the hostess for the evening. She will also make herself available after the event to meet people.
New Dean of Students, Del Beatty, brings a wealth of knowledge of the pageant world to the campus with this event.
He produced pageants at Southern Utah University and several other venues over the past 15 years. As part of his mission to bring new and exciting events to campus, the Miss CEU Pageant seemed a natural fit.
“The excitement is building on campus and we hope the community will support the pageant as well,” says Beatty. “We planned this during the Homecoming week for the purpose of revitalizing a great activity for the students and to give the college exposure through the potential of having Miss CEU compete at the Miss Utah Pageant. We’re glad it’s back!”
Twenty contestants entered the competition. They have been preparing for three weeks learning production numbers, honing their interview skills and brushing up on talents.
