Elizabeth Wilson Lloyd
PRICE – Elizabeth Joan Wilson Lloyd, age 86 of Price, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, in Price.
Elizabeth was born Oct. 3, 1921 in Lund, Idaho. She was the first and only daughter of Joseph Ellis Wilson Jr. and Annie Izatt. Her youth was spent on the family farm in Lund, Idaho. She loved being outside.
She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, for one year before she got married. She married Clarence Parke Lloyd on June 6, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in southeast Idaho for six years. In 1946, they moved to Ontario, Ore., for 57 years. Clarence and “Beth” were blessed with seven children.
Elizabeth worked at Ore-Ida foods in quality control for 28 years.
Throughout her life, Elizabeth was active in her church. Elizabeth and Clarence worked in the Boise LDS Temple for two years. After Clarence passed away, Elizabeth served a mission in Arkansas. She loved being in the mission field and met many people who made lasting impressions on her life as she did on theirs.
Elizabeth lived the past five years in Price with her daughter, Annette.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Marsha) Howell of Turlock, Calif., and Mrs. Steve (Annette) Swasey of Price; four sons, Howard (Judy) Lloyd, Jerold (Susan) Lloyd and Wayne (Luann) Lloyd of Salt Lake City and Stanley Lloyd of Bellingham, Wash.; 36 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lloyd; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Tomas V. Moore; five brothers and three grandchildren.
Funeral services in Price will be Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South. A viewing will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary prior to the services. Interment will be Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Payette, Idaho.
William Berdan
SUNNYSIDE – William Lynn Berdan, age 72, passed away Feb. 3, 2008 surrounded by his family at the VA Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Floyd and Theresa P. Berdan.
He served in the U.S. Army during 1953 to 1956.
He migrated to Utah, where he worked at Kaiser Steel in Sunnyside.
His favorite hobbies were to ride Harleys, fly airplanes and stock car races.
The last five years of his life, he lived in his Jazzy chair at the VA Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
He loved to go outdoors and ride around in his Jazzy chair.
He had a kind heart for animals. He adopted many stray cats at the VA Hospital and would go out and feed them every day. He even made sure the cats were spayed and neutered.
Bill also had a lot of friends in the Price and East Carbon area. Special friend Louie Starzel always make a special point of going to see Bill.
The cats and his best friends, Jim and Ed who lived at the VA, will really miss Bill.
Survivors include his brother, Clarance and Mary Berdan of Antigo, Wis.; wife, Aileene; stepchildren, Donna and Damon Hocking, Coleene and Dan Willks, John and Reda White, Tammy White, Tawna and James Brewton, Latasha and Tat Tran and Melissa White; sons, William Lynn Jr. and Michelle Berdan of Purcell, Okla.; David and Lezlie Berdan of Price; Kevin and Kristie Berdan of Price; and daughter, Theresa Lynn and Ron Brewer of Price. Also survived by 32 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Theresa Berdan; brothers Bob and Donald; and sister, Dorothy.
A family memorial services was conducted in honor of Bill Berdan. There will be a memorial service on Feb, 7 at 1400 at the chapel on the fifth floor of the VA Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
The family wants to thank the staff at the VA hospital for all of the excellent care that was given to him during his stay at the TCU unit. Speaking with all of the staff there made us realize how much they cared for Bill.
