Bret Blackburn
ORANGEVILLE – James Bret (Razor) Blackburn, age 47, of Orangeville, died Jan. 12, 2008 at his home in Orangeville.
He was born Dec. 10, 1960 in Phoenix, Ariz., a son of Jimmy Lea and Joan Sandra Samples Blackburn. He married Jolene Salisbury Sept. 2, 1989 in Salina. They were later divorced.
Bret served in the United States Navy on the USS McKean from 1980 to 1984.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
Razor, as he was known by all his friends, enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, camping, being a mechanic, a musician and spending time with his boys.
He was one of the last true cowboys.
He is survived by his three boys, James (Mavrick) Elias Blackburn, Brayden Seth Blackburn and John Tyler Blackburn, and their mother, Jolene Salisbury Blackburn, all of Mayfield; his parents, Joan Sandra and Richard (Pa) Sudweeks of Redmond; Jimmy Lea and Elaine Blackburn of Salina; sisters and brother, Cheryl Jean and Steve Critchet of Sandy Valley, Nev.; Jimmy Lee and Ruth Gamad Blackburn of Ferron; Delanna Jo and Trent Riley of Clawson; stepsister and stepbrothers, Kim and Layne Johnson, Paul and Shelley Fallon and Dale Fallon, all of Hurricane.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 19, at noon at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield. Burial will take place at a late date. On line guest book at www.springerturner.com.
Armond Monfredi
PRICE/ST. GEORGE-A wonderful man has been called home after a long battle with cancer.
Armond Monfredi was born on March 2, 1932 to Olivia Chivaglia and Tony Monfredi in Price and passed away on Jan. 15, 2008 in St. George. He married Shirlee Oppocher in 1955.
Armond was definitely the center of his family.We all looked up to him for guidance and advice.He molded each one of us into the people we are today. Not a day will go by that we won’t miss you, pops.
He is survived by his wife Shirlee; his five children; Debi Sims, Terry Monfredi, Larry (Natalie) Monfredi, Cheryl (Mike) Dalton and Joni Monfredi; his 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his sisters Virginia (Ray) Gazell, Jen (Brink) Potter and Gerry (George) Wilberger and many loving nieces and nephews. Armond was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and grandson Keri Sims.
There are no words to explain the love his grandkids and family had for him. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a supportive father, and the world’s greatest grandpa. Fly with the angels, papa. We love you!
Funeral services will be held at the St. George Catholic Church, 259 W. 200 N., St. George on Friday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. A visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, with a Rosary immediately following. A second visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 18, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary prior to services.
