Lucile Downard
WELLINGTON – By the time this is read, I will be back dancing.
PRICE/OREM – Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Lucile Anderson Downard, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Orem.
Lucile was born on June 2, 1918 to David Stimer Anderson and Sarah Matilda Snyder. She married Ray William Downard on July 22, 1937, later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Together, they raised two children and one foster son in their beloved town of Price.
Lucile was a remarkable woman. She lived a life of constant service. She loved serving her family, her church and her community.
Lucile’s greatest love was serving in the Castleview Hospital as a Pink Lady for over 25 years.
Lucile enjoyed playing cards with her friends, hosting parties and crocheting and quilting many blankets.
She was famous for her homemade fudge and her delicious biscuits and gravy.
Lucile dedicated the last five years of her life caring for her husband, Ray, who suffered with Alzheimer’s and preceded her in death by 13 days.
She is survived by her son, Jerry (Vonda) Downard; daughter, Linda (Ralph) Dent; foster son, John (Gail) Zarkis; eight grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren.
Funeral service Thursday, Dec. 27, 11:30 a.m., Price 5th LDS Ward. Family will be at the church Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
Guido Salzetti
SPRING GLEN – Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Guido S. Salzetti, age 90, passed away Dec. 17, 2007 at his home.
He was born July 7, 1917 in Sunnyside to Serafino and Genoveffa Ciccone Salzetti. Married Rose Markosek Oct. 10, 1938; she died Jan. 23, 1973. Married Irene Norton Jan. 7, 1982; she died April 23, 2004.
Guido was a member of the Price Elks Lodge 1550 for 46 years.
He worked in various coal mines in the area and was a retired member of the UMWA for 70 years.
He was a member of the SNPJ Lodge 689.
Guido enjoyed music, trips to Scofield to go fishing, hunting, traveling, but most of all were his grandkids and family.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his daughters, Gaylene (Geno) Ori, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mary (Mike) Porter, East Carbon; one sister and two brothers, Ida Ewell, Edward (Paula) Salzetti and Raymond (Lois) Salzetti; two sisters-in-law, Fawn Salzetti and Helen Markosek; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Armando, Fred and Albert; sisters, Sestina and Marge.
Funeral Mass was Friday, Dec. 21, at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service was Thursday evening at the church. Committal, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Notre Dame building fund.
