Carbon dropped record times during their home swim meet on Nov. 9th. It was their first time swimming in the new pool. |
The Carbon High Swim teams competed last Friday against Delta. The girl’s team chalked up their third dual meet victory in a row, winning 161-12. The boy’s team did not fare as well and lost to Delta 87-111.
Krissia Beatty set a new Carbon High swimming record at a home meet last Friday, November 16th, against Delta. Beatty, a freshman for Carbon High, enjoys swimming and has swam competitively with USA Swimming for years. Coach Cox noted,”She has been working diligently on her turns and it paid off on Friday.” Beatty’s previous best time was a 1:09.30 for the 100 Backstroke. The school record was a 1:09.14 set in 1995 by Natalie Nelson. Friday she swam a 1:08.42 accomplishing her first goal of setting a new backstroke record. Beatty is now working to raise that standard even higher and medal at the 3A state championships on February 1st and 2nd.
