The Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance has no right to stop economic progress in Carbon and Emery counties.
An article in the Salt Lake Tribune on Sept. 13 regarding the Lila Canyon coal mine opening and operating is none of its business. The Utah Division of Gas, Oil and Mining has given approval to open Lila Canyon, as has the United States Bureau of Land Management.
The coal operating power plants need the coal and Carbon County needs the employment that Lila Canyon will bring to the area.
SUWA has no right to object to the Lila Canyon mine. They should stay out of Carbon and Emery counties.
