LaVee Young Wilde


PRICE – LaVee Young Wilde, age 84, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at Castleview Hospital.
She was born Dec. 26, 1922 in Huntington to Guy L. Young and Mable Leonard Young.
LaVee graduated from North Emery High School in 1941, where she received a special award in music.
She married William Bert Wilde March 1, 1942 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He died June 25, 1993.
LaVee was a devoted member of the LDS Church. During her lifetime, she filled numerous church positions, including meetinghouse librarian, ward librarian and served as a name extractor, extracting over 20,000 names.
LaVee devoted her life to teaching, helping and serving others. She worked as an LPN for 20 years.
She lived most of her life in Carbon and Emery County.
She loved her yard, flowers, music, singing in ward and stake choirs all of her life.
LaVee enjoyed oil painting for herself and family. But most of all, she loved her home and her family.
LaVee is survived by her two sons, Rodney (Bonnie) Wilde of Price and Jan Wilde of Price; brothers and sisters, Bernice Nelson of California, Alice Conover of Ferron, Kent (Charlotte) Young of Price, Bevan (Yvone) Young of Price and Willard (Jean) Young of Huntington; grandsons, Derek Wilde, Brian Wilde, both of Price; Brandon (Amber) Wilde of Price and Justin (Heather) Wilde of Price; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Wilde, Kenneth Wilde, Brooklyn Wilde, Joshua Hansen and Calley Wilde. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wilde; sister, Nan Cramer; granddaughters, Berdette Richardson and Janette Wilde
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Huntington Cemetery. As per her request, there will be no public viewing. Services are under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.


Nicholas Bill Nikas


PRICE/SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Nicholas Bill “Nick” Nikas, 76, died Sept. 27 2007 at his home in San Rafael, Calif.
He was born Dec. 12, 1930 in Price to Bill and Mary Nikas. Married Marilyn Joanne Snyder.
Nick was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, retired. Served in Korea and Vietnam.
Following his 20 year military service, he worked 25 years for FEMA.
In retirement, Nick enjoyed golf and his family.
He is survived by his four children, Nikolyn Costello, Kristyn Perino, Karyn Nikas-Dhaliwal and Scott B. Nikas; as well as four grandchildren, Nicholas J. Perino, Karly Rose Perino, Alex G. Nikas and Ryan S. Nikas. Also survived by his sister, Nikki Senor, Price; and brother, John B. Nikas, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Tony, Steve, George and Gust.
Burial services will be Friday, Oct.19, at the Presidio National Cemetery in San Francisco, Calif.
