Food handlers classes – Two-hour sessions are scheduled Oct. 30, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Southeastern Utah Health District in Price. Women’s cancer screening – Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for a free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms.For information, call the health district at 637-3671. Women ages 40 to 49 may qualify for a low-cost exam.
Free legal clinics – Utah Legal Services has scheduled free clinics the second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 7th District Court complex, located at 149 East 100 South in Price. Carbon County Family Support and Children’s Justice Center – offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old. The crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents may use the nursery for respite, doctor and mental health appointments, court appearances, medical emergencies, family crisis, A/Narcotic Anonymous meetings, divorce classes and to escape domestic violence.Parenting classes are scheduled Thursday at 1:30 p.m. For information, call the center at 637-0281.
Price library – Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and closed Sunday.
Story time is scheduled Monday at 11 a.m. for toddlers, Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. There will be no story hours on Oct. 31. Children’s Halloween parties are planned Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. for toddlers and Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. for older youngsters. Support Groups


Recovery Halloween party – The 12-step party and dinner will be presented Oct. 20 at the Alano Club, 1267 Carbonville Road.
The schedule of activities include:
Dinner, 6 to 7 p.m.
Kids treats, 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Costume contest, 7 to 8 p.m.
Main speaker, 8 to 9 p.m.
Prize drawing, 9 to 9:30 p.m.
Games, music and movies, 9:30 p.m. until midnight.
Adults are encouraged to bring candy and prize drawing donations will be appreciated.
Recovery classes – are scheduled Monday to Friday at the Golden Rule Mission in Helper from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Classes include relapse prevention, Big Book, 12 steps, traditions, spirituality and life skills. AA is 6 p.m. daily.
Price Recovery group – meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the CEU computer building.
Reach to Recovery – The American Cancer Society program matches a diagnosed breast cancer patient with a trained survivor who can answer questions and address concerns.
