Carbon emergency services director Jason Llewelyn displays the U.S. Homeland Security’s directors choice award he received at the recent public officials conference in Salt Lake City. Llewelyn works within the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office for James Cordova, with the support of Commissioners Mike Milovich, Steve Burge and William Krompel. The award is based on seven factors; integrity, service, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, courage and outstanding performance under extreme conditions. Llewelyn received the award for his work on the Mathis wildfire, the Crandall Canyon coal mine disaster and the airplance crash north of the Carbon County airport last summer.
