WAAIME local section is about education. In April 2007 the group provided six $1000 scholarships to local mining engineering students attending the University of Utah. Two students from eastern Utah were included, Carson Pollastro from Price and Brad Parrish from Ferron. The students exclaimed their excitement about being interns this summer at local mines, which will help them on their way to becoming mining engineers.
