Dorothy Schade


PRICE – Our dear mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Dorothy Kay Schade passed away on May 30, 2007 from cancer.
She was born April 12, 1961, the 16th child of George and Wauneta Schade.
She grew up in Price and Soldier Summit.
Dorothy was a free spirit and a very giving person, always going the extra mile to help others.
She will be dearly missed.
Dorothy is survived by sons, Michael Schade, Chester and Brian Bailey; special friend, Clarence Krauth; five grandchildren; sisters, Lynda, Sandra and Jean; brothers, Brent, Earl, Carl, Willie, Ralph, Jerold, Garold, Jim and George. Preceded in death by mother and father; sisters, Ruth and Becky; and brother, Charles. Dear friends, Chanie, Buffy and children.
Memorial services were Saturday, June 2, at the Price City Cemetery.


Preston A. Parrish Jr.


SUNNYSIDE-Preston Alexander Parrish Jr., age 92, passed away June 1, 2007 in Price.
He was born April 17, 1915 in Denora, Pa., to Preston Alexander Parrish Sr. and Fannie Webb. Preston married Margaret Boyd Dec. 25, 1947. They had nine children after 25 years of marriage, later divorced. Married Margaret Robinson Aug. 29, 1975 in Los Angeles, Calif., and together they shared 31 wonderful years of marriage.
Preston was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In 1950, he moved to Sunnyside area where he began working in the mines. He was a retired member of the UMWA. Kaiser Steel Local 9958.
In 2000, Preston was the grand marshal of Community Daze.
He shared a deep passion for music, dancing, and playing the harmonica and piano.
Preston enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and just keeping busy.
He will be dearly missed by his family and many longtime friends.
He is survived by loving wife, Margaret Parrish, Sunnyside; four sons and three daughters, Jackie (William) Lemons, Richmond, Calif.; Jimmey Parrish, Pinole, Calif.; Bertha Parrish, Layton; Jeff Parrish, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Carl (Joni) Parrish, Salt Lake City; Preston A. Parrish III, Layton; Merry (Jimmie) Parrish-Thompson, Layton; stepchildren, Glenn Ivan Mims, Pahrump, Nev.;Gwendolyn Nita (Al) James, Las Vegas, Nev.; Belldream Mims, Los Angeles, Calif.; Finis Mims, Germany; Lloyd Mims, Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Marion Hawkins, Los Angeles, Calif.; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Margaret Parrish; son, Robert Parrish; and brother, Moses Parrish.
Funeral service Saturday, June 9, 2 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price. Friends are welcome to join the family at Mitchell’s Saturday one-half hour prior to service.


Art Jeanselme Jr.


PRICE- Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Art Jeanselme Jr., age 70, passed away at home unexpectedly June 1, 2007.
Born March 25, 1937 in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Art Jeanselme Sr. and Lola Burress Jeanselme. He married his high school sweetheart, Merilee Davis, on June 28, 1958. He was the proud father of three children.
He graduated from Carbon High School and Carbon College, where he was active in athletics.
Art was a person of high integrity with a strong work ethic. He started working at a young age in the family business, Jeanselme’s Grocery Store and Restaurant. He was later employed by Albertson’s as a meat department manager and moved with his family to Colorado Springs, Colo.
After spending six years in Colorado, he returned to Price and became a partner in the family business. He successfully managed the business for five years. He then sold it and bought a Radio Shack franchise, which he ran until his retirement.
Art was involved in the community through the Elks and Kiwanis clubs.
After retiring, he enjoyed spending time fishing, dutch oven cooking and hosting numerous barbecues for friends and family.
He and Merilee went on many fun-filled trips associated with Radio Shack and in their trailer. He loved spending as much time as possible at Joes Valley.
He was actively involved and an avid supporter of his children and grandchildren. He never missed a game or dance recital.
Art was a big sports fan. He also liked his time with “coffee club” friends, discussing current events.
Art had a great love of family and is now reunited with his mother and father.
Survived by wife, Merilee, Price; daughters, Teri (Jim) Scherzinger, Salt Lake; Michele (Stephen) Maliesky, Scotts Valley, Calif; son, Steven (Jen) Jeanselme, Salt Lake; grandchildren, Aaron and Lindsey Scherzinger; Connor and Daria Maliesky, Logan, Reagan and Lola Jeanselme; sister, Merlene (Ernie) Lambert, Price; brother-in-law, Ron Davis, Denver, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service, Tuesday, June 5, 10 a.m., United Methodist Church, 10 N. 200 East, Price. Viewing will be Monday, June 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 E. Main, Price. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church or the Huntsman Cancer institute.
We wish to express our love and gratitude to our family and friends for their support.


Paul Marquez


SUNNYSIDE- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Paul “Rock” Marquez, age 60, passed away peacefully June 1, 2007 in Orem while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 22, 1946 in Dragerton to Jose Amador and Isabel Lujan Marquez. Married Delia Pacheco Dec. 4, 1971 in East Carbon.
Paul was an active member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon, where he was treasurer for council 5663, a third degree knight for council 6147 and fourth degree knight for council 1570 of the Knights of Columbus.
Honorably served his country from 1966 to 1968 in the U.S. Army.
His greatest loves were his family, camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking and working at the church.
Paul retired from Kaiser Steel in 2002 and was a member of the UMWA Local 9958.
Survived by loving wife, Delia; two daughters, JoAnn Marquez, Lisa (Bryan) Mena, all of East Carbon; grandchildren, Jesse, Amberia, Marriah, Izabel; three brothers, Max (Nora), Virgil (Carol), Mike (Teri), all of East Carbon; two sisters, Arvella Gallegos, Margie Sanchez, both of Salt Lake. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Alice Martinez.
Funeral Mass Friday, June 8, 10 a.m., at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Vigil service Thursday evening, 7 p.m., at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon. The family will be at the church Thursday and Friday one hour prior to service. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery in Price under the arrangements of Mitchell Funeral Home.
