James Zubal
PRICE – James Allen Zubal, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away suddenly at his home April 22, 2007 in Carbonville. His wife, Jean, was at his side.
He was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Walsenburg, Colo., to Grace Emma Hubbard and Frank Charles Zubal, raised in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains and finding his way to Dragerton, where he met and married the love of his life, Jean Crosby.
Worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines, safety division in the early 1950s and continued in the mining industry. A coal miner by trade, a gunsmith by love.
He is survived by family; wife, Jean; daughters, Joan (Ron) Felice, Jama (Jim) Rand; son, Frank (Jacqueline); sister, Iris (Dean) Doolin; Alfred “Duke” (Peggy) Booco; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by daughters, Paula Jeanne and Julia Ruth; great-granddaughter, Mikala; brother, Gordon Booco; and sister, Grace “Winkie” Booco.
A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 26, Price City Cemetery, under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Susan Acerson
PRICE/SALT LAKE CITY – Surrounded by family, Susan (Susie) Marie Acerson passed without pain to a spiritual existence on April 20, 2007 to play with her favorite lab, Chaco.
She was born in Salt Lake City to Lenice L. Nielsen and Mary (Allred) Wyatt. Susan was the third of four children, Carol Coles (Arne), Edward Nielsen (deceased) and Bill Nielsen (Donna). She married Steven Donald Acerson, the love of her life on Feb. 2, 1985 at the beautiful outdoor setting of Fisher Towers next to the Colorado River. They had met on a whitewater-rafting trip with her daughter Shannon Marie Smith (Shadow). They were later solemnized after a scary drive through a snowstorm in the Manti LDS Temple, March 3, 1989. She followed her heart to Green River and became a loving and caring mother to Teresa N., Brian S., and Summer Anne Acerson.
Her love for serving and caring for others found her working at various positions: emergency medical technician, senior citizens and home health. Then with continued education she received her registered nurse degree from College of Eastern Utah in Price.
As an active member of the LDS church, she served in many callings. She enjoyed her opportunities to share her life experiences to guide and direct the youth.
Her life was filled with outdoor activities, which included whitewater rafting (guide), horseback riding through the mountains, chasing her dogs and husband across sage and sandstone. She became a full time member of the tadpole clan. Gardening and flowers were her passion and relief time.
Her little miracle in life arrived 20 years after her first child, at the age of 43. Alexis Brehan joined our family, with beautiful eyes, smile and an amazing voice. Two months prior she was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Kylie Marie (Pookie) Smith.
Proceeded in death by first husband, David Willard Smith.

Evelyn Moyer
PRICE – Evelyn Pehrson Moyer, age 80, passed away on April 22, 2007, peacefully at Pioneer Valley Hospital.
She was born Dec. 4, 1926 in Cleveland to Peter and Nellie Pehrson.
She was a very loving and compassionate lady. Her greatest joy in life were her three great-grandchildren, Alicia, P.J. and Angel. Our “Grannie” will be missed deeply. Until we meet again… we will see you in Heaven.
She is survived by sister, Shirley Gilbert of Helper; grandson, Peter (Sandra) Moyer of California; and granddaughter, Lisa (Troy) Eastman of Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by two adult children; Robert David Moyer and Susan Ranae Irvin.
Graveside services will be at the Cleveland City Cemetery on Wednesday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price. The family would like to welcome all visitors to the viewing prior to graveside service.
Joanne Forrester
SALT LAKE CITY – Joanne R. Forrester passed away April 21, 2007 in Salt Lake City.
She was born June 6, 1931 in Pocatello, Idaho, to William Frank Riddell and Ellen Pearl Olsen. She married Ray Forrester, later divorced.
Joanne was a hard worker. She enjoyed interior design and owned the Red Ox restaurant in Bountiful. She also loved to entertain her friends, especially at her annual lamb barbeque in Scofield.
Survived by children, Brent (Bonnie) Forrester, Debbie Stone, Tammy Vigor and Denette Young; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Marlene Jacobsen, Donna Jorn and Bill Riddell.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 28, 11 a.m., at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City.
Blaine Tuttle
ORANGEVILLE – J. Blaine Tuttle, 83, passed away April 21, 2007 in Orangeville.
He was born Nov. 27, 1923 in Kenilworth to Milton Melrose and Essie Mable Guymon Tuttle. He married Geneva Snow in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 26, 1943.
Blaine loved the small town atmosphere and was proud of the fact that he spent his entire life in Orangeville. He was an active member of the LDS church serving in many callings. His most cherished calling was serving the people he loved as bishop for 13 years. He worked as a professional truck driver for 30 plus years for Deseret Transportation, during this time he received an award for driving 2.5 million miles accident free. He also enjoyed working hand in hand with his twin brother Bland on their farm. He was proud of his gardening skills. He enjoyed time spent on the backhoe and his association with Cottonwood Creek Irrigation Co.
He is survived by wife; children, Richard (Joyce) Tuttle, Medford, Ore.; Janet (Kelly) Jones Longmont, Colo.; Cathy (Kirk) Olsen, Sandy; Roger, Orangeville; Cathy Tuttle Hardee (Brent), Castle Dale; Alan (Danielle), St. Louis, Mo.; Jennifer, Price; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Roy Dean and Edwin; sons, Lowell and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Tracey Lyn and Katrina.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 27 at the Orangeville LDS Chapel, 11 a.m. A viewing will take place Thursday, April 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, and one hour prior the services. Burial will take place at the Orangeville City Cemetery.
Philip Harmon
PRICE/SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Pete Terry “Pete” Harmon left this world on April 15, 2007 surrounded by his family; but his passing will leave a gap in all of the places where his bright smile and twinkling eyes are expected.
Pete was born in Price on March 12, 1936 to Eveline Jane and Brigham Harmon. He was the oldest son of four siblings and honed his leadership skills in the manner of big brothers everywhere.
He joined the Navy after completing high school, never dreaming that this career choice would truly take him around the world. He served his country honorably for 20 years and then used the skills developed in service of his country to create a unique job niche, which he filled expertly until his final “final” retirement in 2001.
After retiring he developed a passion and talent for cooking; primarily developing recipes that featured the use of his favorite hot peppers.
He served on the executive committee at the American Legion Post 300 where he enjoyed the company of friends and proved that he never in his life met a stranger.
He loved traveling, he worked hard, and he played fair. His combination of charm, generosity and loyalty made him the truest and best man that he could be; but it was his sense of humor that set the hook. His last joke for us all was that in his passing he made true the adage that “nothing is certain but death and taxes.”
He is survived by beautiful bride of more than 50 years, Annie Lavone Rock Harmon; two daughters, Cena Michelle Harmon (Ron Logdahl) and Barbara Ann Harmon-Cowherd (Kevin); and four grandchildren, Emma Lisette Logdahl, Calvin Rhys Cowherd, Aidan Bryce Cowherd and Zoe Bryn Cowherd. He also leaves faithful companion, Peanut, devoid of a warm lap in which to cuddle. He was preceded in death by parents (Jennie and Brig); oldest sister (Barbara); and younger brother (Mike).
A celebration of Pete’s life was at the American Legion Post 300, 3290 Grosenbacher Road on Friday, April 20 at 3 p.m.
