Robert Anderson
EMERY – Robert Edward Anderson passed away March 12, 2007 at the Emery County Nursing Home from Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born Aug. 16, 1919 in Emery. He married Erma Olene Mortensen March 22, 1940 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Robert served in World War II as a gunner in the U.S. Navy.
He was a true cowboy and cow man who spent his entire life ranching. He also drove the school bus for several years as well as working at the Browning Coal mine.
He was known for breeding and training good horses including cutting horses which he was very successful. He was still riding and roping at the age 85.
He is survived by wife of 67 years, Erma Olene; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy (Shelia), Emery; Kerry (Janet), West Valley; brother, Dwaine (Luella), Emery; sister, Bessie Christman, Price; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur M. and Virtue Anderson; son, Eddie; brothers and sisters, Elmo, Melburn, Lyle, Bertha and Bonnie.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 15, noon, at the Emery LDS Chapel. Viewing will be Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 710 N. Center, Castle Dale, and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment, Emery City Cemetery.
Patricia Fenn
FERRON – Patricia Johansen Brinkerhoff Fenn was born Oct. 6, 1927 in Castle Dale to Byron C. and Udella Peterson Johansen. She married Edward James Brinkerhoff in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 15, 1946. He passed away in 1978. She married Max Jay Fenn Jan. 10, 1987 in Huntington.
Pat is survived by husband, Max J. Fenn; children, Debra (Robert) Smith, Lawrence; Paul (Diane) Brinkerhoff, Orangeville; Edna Kay (Eddie) Fox, Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Kristie Partridge, Layne Fox, Amy Fox, Kyle Fox, Kelly Brinkerhoff, Lacey Brinkerhoff, Geoffrey Smith, James Smith, 11 great-grandchildren. The families of Maxine (Steve) Deeter, Sharoan (Richard) Poulsen, Michael (Loma) Fenn, Julie (Blake) Smith, and Karen (Peter) Graham, including 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren who were special in Pat’s heart. Also survived by sisters, Ina Lee Magnuson, Castle Dale; Jean Curtis, Orangeville; Zora Fielder, Castle Dale; Kay Paoli, Elko, Nev.; Sonny Nielsen, Castle Dale; sister-in-law, Julie Love, Castle Dale; brother-in-law, Harvey (Pearl) Brinkerhoff, Ferron/Lawrence; and aunt, Dore Dean Jewkes, Green River. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom Pat loved and cherished dearly. Pat was preceded in death by husband, Edward James Brinkerhoff; daughters, Sherry and Jolene Brinkerhoff; parents; and brother, Kirk Johansen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 13, 11 a.m., at the Huntington 5th Ward LDS Chapel. Visitations will be at the Huntington 5th LDS Ward one hour prior to service. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery under the directions of Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale.
David Mills
ELMO/GUNNISON – David “Melvin” Mills, 95, passed away in Elmo on March 10, 2007.
He was born Jan. 26, 1912 in Victor to David James and Bertha Pearl Wells Mills. He married Orthella Marshell Nov. 4, 1933 in Huntington. They later divorced in 1955. He then married Lorna Sudweeks Mills Jan. 19, 1963 in the Manti LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1988.
He lived most of his life in Victor, Huntington and Gunnison. He was a member of the LDS Church and served in several callings throughout the years.
He worked many years in the coal mines at Wattis and Hiawatha and retired from there. He also worked for the forest service and had been a hard working farmer all of his life. He loved working the ground and working with animals. He also loved being with and doing things with his family.
He is survived by six children, Ordis Tong, Sacramento, Calif.; Delbert (Susan) Mills, Grass Valley, Calif. Roy (Darlene) Mills, Sandy Valley, Nev.; Naoima Oman, Castle Dale; Blanche (Art) Legrand, Sparks, Nev.; Regnald (Janet) Mills, Bedford, NH.; five stepchildren, Glendon, (Linda) Mills, Lehi; Len (Deanna) Mills, Kingston; Cline (Rena) Mills, West Valley City; Lorna Gail (Wilford) Nielson, Huntington; 29 grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, 45 step-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Arvella (Max) Yergensen, St. George; Wilma Hammerschimd, Salt Lake City; Delbert (Lois) Mills, St. George; and Deloris Marvidakis, Cleveland. He was preceded in death by wife, Lorna; parents; stepmother, Lillian Mills; stepdaughter, LaJune Mills; stepson, Mavin Mills; stepdaughter-in-law, Loa Mills; two step-grandchildren, Shauna June Nielson and Rebecca Helen Mills; brothers, Ervin Mills and Dee Mills; sister, Elda Oveson; sisters-in-law, Irene Mills and Evelyn Mills; brothers-in-law, Alonzo Oveson, Tony Marvidakis and Willis Hammerschimd.
Mel has surely been a good example among us and his family and friends will miss him dearly.

Terry Davis
PRICE – Terry Owen Davis passed away March 7, 2007 at the age of 46.
He was born Nov. 23, 1960 in Price to Owen Bliss and Gladys Melba Parry Davis.
His special interest were building motorcycles, drawing, fishing, camping, and working on cars.
He is survived by sisters, Carol Davis, Tina Davis, both of Price; Chris Marchello, Colorado; nieces, Melba Davis, Alexis (John) Schade, Amanda Marchello, all of Price; nephews, Tim (Rhonda) McCandless, Ft. Bragg, N.C.; great-nephews and nieces, Matt and Joseph Schade, Price; Megan and Michael, Colorado; and numerous family members. Preceded in death by parents; grandparents; and best friends, Troy and Gardel Auberger and Donna Welch.
A viewing will be Tuesday, March 13, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Interment, Price City Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Matthew Crockett
LOGAN – Matthew William Crockett, 3, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Primary Children’s Medical Center due to complications from bone marrow transplant.
Matthew was born Sept. 18, 2003 in Salt Lake City to Jeremy and Billi Crockett.
Matthew was a true hero. His strength and determination inspired those around him. Matthew’s big smile and bright blue eyes will always shine in the hearts of those who loved him.
To know Matthew and love Matthew was the greatest gift and privilege. Matthew will be missed tremendously.
Matthew loved being with his family. He loved playing cars, basketball, watching Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Cars and Madagascar.
He is survived by parents, Jeremy and Billi; two brothers, Mason and Braden; grandparents, Patty and Ernie Crockett of Logan; Joanne Penovich of Price; great-grandmothers, Beth Blanchard of Logan; Laree Ellsworth of Smithfield; great aunts, Katherine Winters, Betty (Paul) Wheeler of Price; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Camden; and grandfather, William Hinkins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Primary Children’s Medical Center, ICS Unit, BMT Clinic, and PICU for the outstanding care and compassion they provided and showed to Matthew.

Mary Bon
PRICE/MESA, Ariz. – Mary Bonn, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2007 in the home of her daughter Kay Fail in Mesa, Ariz.
Mary was born in San Francisco, Calif., and raised in Price by Sheldon and Muriel Anderson with her sisters, Edna McSweeney (deceased) and Patricia Hammond. She married Doug Bon in 1940, after moving to Salt Lake, Pocatello, Idaho, and Orem, she and Doug settle in East Carbon (Dragerton ) in 1944, where they raised three children, Kay, Sheldon and Roger.
While in East Carbon, Mary spent many years working as public health nurse until she retired in 1974.
Following high school, Mary attended nursing school at Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital, Ogden, graduating in 1936. She began her nursing career at Price Memorial Hospital.
In her younger years, Mary was active in Cub Scouts and church, and as a public health nurse she was involved in numerous community activities.
Following retirement, Mary spent many years in East Carbon volunteering with book mobile, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and later in Price at the library and museum.
Mary and Doug were pioneer members of Trinity Episcopal Church in East Carbon, where Mary was actively involved until she moved to Price following Doug’s death in 1990. There she attended Ascension-St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. In 2005, Mary moved to Mesa, Ariz.
When Mary was growing up she played tennis, swam and enjoyed running. She was an avid reader and was especially fond of Shakespeare, traveling on several occasions to Cedar City for the Shakespeare Festival.
She enjoyed her career in nursing and tirelessly cared for those needed or requesting her services.
Mary is survived by sister, Pat Hammond, Price; daughter, Kay Fail (Dick) Mesa, Ariz.; Sheldon, Newberry, S.C.; Roger (Cindy) Sandy; five wonderful grandchildren and two grandchildren.
Mary was a tireless worker, a wonderful mother, nana and friend. Her intelligence, wit, and kindness will forever be missed.
A memorial services will be Saturday, March 17, at St. James Episcopal Church, 7486 S. Union Park Avenue, Midvale, 11 a.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Banner Hospice, 1325 North Fiesta Blvd., Ste. 1, Gilbert, AZ 85233.
