Travis Hobbs gets his flip on during a meet earlier this season.

As the season rolls on the Carbon Dino Divers continue to dominate their opponents as they did again on January 13. The Dino boy’s team traveled to Bear River to compete in their last qualifying meet before region diving.
As in the last several meets, the team captured first place over all the other teams. Lead again by Travis Hobbs the team continues to shine. Hobbs took third place, just shy of a second place finish by 7/100 of a point. Hobbs had previously beaten his competitors, but this time came up short.
Brett Wells followed with a sixth place finish, Kent Olsen took seventh and Travis Hepworth ended up in ninth. Olsen again continued to improve, posting another personal best score.
Freshman Nick Torres was able to place 16th. Nathan Hepworth in 19th and James Machcinski in 21st rounded up the Carbon squad.
The team will now prepare for the region meet in Park City Jan. 27. The Dinos have had the best showing for a 3A division team this year. Coach Stew Foster is hoping to see continued success. “We hope to continue placing first as a team.” He remarked about this year’s season.
