College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum volunteers honor Jo Varner as the 1,111,961st visitor to the museum. Staff had originally planned to honor the millionth visitor, but learned in doing research, that the museum had already passed that number. Instead, the staff chose the number 1,111,961, influenced by the museum’s founding more than 45 years ago, in 1961. Varner was honored at a luncheon after her arrival and received a lifetime membership to the museum for her and her family.
