Cans for CARE-A-VAN – Donations assist the elderly with transportation to medical appointments. Aluminum cans may be dropped off at Howa’s on Carbonville Road. Residents may call the program at 637-9488 to make pick up arrangements. Cans must be bagged.
Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation – needs adult volunteers to feed orphaned animals and clean facilities. Donations are accepted. Dedicated hunter hours may be worked through the program. Call Debbie Pappas at 650-3441 for information.

Story time is Monday at 11 a.m. for toddlers, Tuesday at 5 p.m., Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. The library is looking for old paperback books. Family Support & Children’s Justice Center – offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old. Crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Families may use the nursery for respite, family crisis, court, doctors appointments, medical emergencies, mental health appointments, escaping family violence, attending parenting classes, divorce classes and AA/Narcotic Anonymous meetings. The center will only accept furniture items if they have families in need.
