Just more than one-fourth of a pound of suspected methamphetamine is now evidence after it was seized by law enforcement personnel earlier this month. After receiving information that a significant amount of suspected drugs was being ‘moved’ out of a residence on U.S. Highway 6 in Helper, Carbon County SWAT, Carbon-Emery Metro Drug Task Force, adult probation and parole and Helper city police executed a search warrant on Oct. 6. Deputy Chris Basso reported that the search yielded 4.5 ounces of suspected methamphetamine (approximately $5,000 street value) and other assorted drug paraphernalia. Carl Trujillo and Shelley M. Buchanan were arrested at the scene and booked into the Carbon County Jail on several drug related charges stemming from the incident.
