While people are often overwhelmed by the large geographic features of the Castle Valley such as the cliffs and rock formations, they sometimes ignore the obvious incongruities that the flora provides along with those geologic sites. In this photo swampy cat tails grow in the path of a stream where water doesn’t flow off of dry cliffs very often. The diversity of life in the desert can be astounding.
