The Dino golf team played at Canyon Hills Golf Course in Nephi last week. The team finished in first place for the match with a team total of 314. They finished four shots ahead of second place Delta who finished with 318 and 13 shots ahead of Juan Diego finishing at 327.
This still leaves the team in second place in overall region 8 play, but only six shots ahead of Delta. It has been a three-way battle between Carbon, Delta and Juan Diego all year with all three teams winning critical meets. Juan Diego remains the front runner in the race to the finally.
Team leaders were Shayne Burke 76, Ween Ngamketkamol 77, Brett Johnson 78, Jason Child and Ryan Nelson both shot 83. Shayne Burke’s 76 was the best individual score of the day.
“I think it was a great job by the team.” commented Coach Tony Pinedo on his team’s performance. The final match of the year was Thursday at Palisade Golf Course, the home course for North Sanpete.
