Hannah Zupon
SUNNYSIDE/EAST CARBON – Hannah Kennick Zupon, age 88, died Sept. 26, 2006 in Salt Lake City.
Born Sept. 4, 1918 in Kenilworth, to Frank and Antonia Medevek Kennick. Married Amil Zupon Oct. 27, 1938 in Salt Lake City. He died Nov. 15, 1989.
Hannah was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church of East Carbon. She was a resident of Sunnyside prior to 2003. Hannah was known for her beautiful hand stitched designer quilts. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by two daughters, Lorraine Murray and special companion, Jerry Jewell, Sammamish, Wash.; Karen (Gary) Tobey, Salt Lake City; special granddaughter, Stephanie Tobey, Salt Lake City; and sister, Mrs. Helen Butters, Roy. Preceded in death by husband, Amil; brothers, Harry, Bill, Carl, Clinton and Clifford; and sister, Bette.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Stratford in Draper, for their loving care and concern for Hannah over the last three years.
Funeral Mass Saturday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church in East Carbon. Vigil service, Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Family will be at the church in East Carbon one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. Friends are welcome to call Mitchell’s Friday. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Gloria Seal
SPRING GLEN – Gloria Christensen Seal, 73, passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2006 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Gloria was born Dec. 12, 1932 in Price in Perry Elias and Nola O’Niel Christensen. She married Lawrence Floyd Seal Sept. 23, 1949 in Price.
Gloria had many active callings in church. She was a good visiting teacher, and she sang in the church choir. But Gloria’s true calling and love was working in the genealogy library.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will forever remain in our hearts, and will be missed by all.
Gloria is survived by husband, Floyd, of Spring Glen; daughter, Marlene Tufts of Lindon; sons, F. Carey and Nedra Seal of Ogden; L. Cory Seal of Spring Glen, Perry Seal of Orem, and Jody Seal of Spring Glen; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Perry (Ginger) Christensen of Logan; sisters, Joyce (Ken) Anderson of Washington: Carol (Bruce) Worthen of Delta; Gail Pagano of Price; and Susan (Jim) Wilstead of Price. She is preceded in death by parents, and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m., at the Helper LDS Stake Center. Friends and family may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Viewing will be Friday, Sept. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price. Burial, Price city cemetery.
Gerry Hensley
HELPER – Gerrit Simon “Gerry” Hensley, age 47, died Sept. 15, 2006 in Rye, Texas.
He was born Dec. 6, 1958 in Salt Lake City to Carl A. and Jannetje Hensley.
Gerry loved the outdoors and fishing.
He is survived by mother, Jannetje Hensley; daughter, Simonia Hunt; brothers and sisters, Hank (Paula) Hensley, Albert Hensley, Rosetta (James) Ceal, Fred (Pier) Hensley, Iona (Steve) Giocoletto, Naomi (Jim) Phillips, Carl (Lori) Hensley, Jan (Tamara) Hensley, Janneke (Kevin) Phillips, Enoch Hensley; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father, Carl A. Hensley and Lisa Hunt.
Burial will be private.
