Just shy of a base hit, a Helper runner is called out as the ball beats him to first thanks to Judge’s quick infielding. Helper lost 3-4 to Judge.

The Helper American League baseball team hosted Judge on June 27 and suffered a defeat at home.
Kyler Edgehouse took the mound and gave up a single run in the first and then settled down. Helper tied up the game in the second with a run. Neither team scored in the third. Helper put one across in both the fourth and fifth to take a two run lead.
Helper hit the ball well and had runners on base almost every inning. Base running errors in the fourth and fifth innings took them out of scoring opportunities as well.
It looked as if Helper had the upper hand in the game until the sixth. Then Edgehouse began to have trouble. He allowed a lead off home run. The next batter got on base and the third batter of the inning sent the second homer of the inning over the fence.
Brett Johnson came in as the relief and shut Judge down. Helper’s offense was unable to make up for the damage and dropped a critical home game to a good team.
Trevor Thompson hit the ball well during the night. He was 3-4 with a double. Mike Zaccaria was hot as well. He was 2-3 at the plate and also popped a double.
In the end, Helper dropped the game 3-4 to a good Judge team. They played a home game on June 28 against Granger. After a break for July 4 they resumed play at home against Woods Cross. No scores were available for either game as of press time.
The team hits the road for four games. They will play two games on July 7. The first will be at 5:30 p.m. at Murray and then they will play at 8 p.m. at Olympus.
The road trip also includes the All-star game on July 8. The All-Star game will start at 7 p.m. at Kearns after the team plays at Judge at noon. They will return to the friendly confines on July 10 to take on Tooele and then Cyprus on July 12. Both games will start at 6 p.m.
