Becky Tallerico casts an electronic ballot the new voting machines during the Democratic Party’s primary election on June 27.
Tallerico indicated that she loved the new system because the voting process was less time-consuming and the large print was an added bonus.
The preliminary election results indicate that Vikki Barnett won the Democratic primary race against the incumbent county recorder by a margin of 20 percentage points.
While the official canvas still has to be performed, results showed that Carbon County had a 10 percent voter turnout.
The results from 23 precincts indicated that Barnett garnered 926 of 1,533 ballots cast.
