Last weekend the Wild West Nationals Motocross was held at the Carbon County Fairgrounds. The event was attended by hudreds of people and participants who vied for their chance in the sun by winning preliminary heats and then the final races.
This was the second time the race has come to Price and featured riders from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Colorado.
Some of the riders were just out for the weekend, but many of them follow the series around the intermountain west earning points toward a series championship.
The race began with a downpour on Friday night and many thought the races would not go on. But racers and the crews from the county were able to get the track back in shape by Saturday morning.
This weekend the USRA will be having another motocross at the fairgrounds. Local riders will be involved and hope to do well against many out of towners.
