A Carbon pitcher winds up at a game last spring. Carbon’s season has just just begun with non-region play. The Dinos take on Grand High School today at 3 p.m.

The boys from Carbon traveled to Colorado for non-region games against three Colorado teams.
The Friday match up against Montrose Colo. was not what the team had hoped for.
The cold weather affected the Dinos’ pitching and they allowed 10 runs by the opposing team.
The Dinos’ hitting was not up to the task on the first game as they could only push two across for a score.
Final score was Montrose 10, Carbon 2.
Saturday proved a bit better as the Dinos took on Silver Creek and dispatched them in a five inning affair. The Carbon team was up by 12 in the fifth and the 10-run rule was invoked.
In the final game Carbon and North Ridge battled for a marathon three-hour, four-run affair.
With the weather closing the game ended in a tie.
Coach Lane Herrick was pleased with the pitching efforts of Aaron Sandoval and Chase Julian.
The Carbon High coach feels that the cold weather has not helped his pitching staff perform at their best.
After the first game, the offense also showed signs of life and coach was please with what he saw at the plate.
Weather permitting, the Dinos will meet up with Springville on Tuesday afternoon at home. Game time is 3 p.m.
