Richard Tatton and his wife Sandra are slated to be the grand marshalls of the Saint Patrick’s Day parade for 2006. The Price City Council selected them for the honor. Price City will host the event on Saturday, March 18.
Mr. Tatton was born and raised in Carbon County and attended local schools. He is a graduate of the College of Eastern Utah and Weber State College and holds a degree in business administration. He served in both the Army and the Air Force in the early years of the Vietnam era.
He has been a community leader and businessman for over 30 years. He started the Tatton Insurance Agency in Price in 1975, and has served many years on the county planning and zoning committee. He served two terms on the county school board, and is in his third term as a Price City Council Member. Tatton also sits on the Price River Water Improvement District Board. For many years he helped with youth activities in the area, including the young men’s baseball program.
Tatton says he loves the area and the people of the county, and is proud to call Price his home. He said it is an honor to be selected as grand marshal of Saturday’s parade.
Mrs. Tatton (Formerly the Miss Sandra Reese) was born in Carbon County, graduated from Carbon High School and attended the CEU.
She is a great support to the community and works in the family business.
She says she likes to be anonymous, but on Saturday she will be riding with Mr. Tatton in the parade and that will not be the case.
