Brittany Blaisedell goes for two against SLCC during Fridays game.

Third place Salt Lake Community College came down to Price looking to finish up regular season play with a pair of wins. The CEU women were hoping to stop them, but were not able to get the job done as the Lady Eagles lost on Friday night 90-88 and then took another blow to the chin on Saturday evening with a 91-69 loss.
Friday nights game saw the Eagles fall behind quickly. They were forced to play catch-up the rest of the evening. The first half of play saw the Bruins going to the line 17 times while CEU only got six free throw attempts.
The game was fast paced and the Bruins were able to out run the Eagles on both sides of the floor. At the break the CEU squad faced a 12 point deficit.
The second half of play saw the team make several good scoring runs to try and get back into the contest. They pulled within three points a few times only to see Salt Lake build the lead back up to 10 or more.
CEU made one final push and cut the lead to five within the last five minutes of the game and then Salt Lake took back the momentum and finished off to win by 10.
Saturday’s game had an unusual start time and the Lady Eagles began their game at 3 p.m. The early start time did not help the Eagles overcome the powerful offense of the Bruins. CEU trailed by 19 at half time.
The Lady Eagles were a bit stronger in the second period. They were able to match the offense of the Bruins and not let the lead grow much more.
Jana Glover lead the scoring effort for the Eagles in both weekend games. On Friday night she hit 17 and on Saturday night she stuck in another 14.
CEU now goes to North Idaho for the region 18 tournament. They face Dixie College in the first round. Dixie is just ahead of CEU in the regular season standings and it should be a close match-up.
