Each week during the basketball season the Sun Advocate highlights players from the Carbon High girls and boys basketball teams.
Chase Julian is a starting senior for Carbon High basketball, he plays point guard for the squad. On the baseball team he is a shortstop and pitcher. He also is on the golf team.
When he is not pursuing his sports, he is hunting and fishing. He also likes to color. He is the second youngest and he has four sisters. Calculus is one of several of his classes he likes. He is thinking about college, but has yet to narrow down a choice. He looks up to Salin Stodamire as a role model.
Meesha Rasmussen is a senior and plays point guard on the Lady Dinos team. She is a shortstop and second baseman on the softball team. On the volleyball squad she is an off hand hitter.
Singing and playing the piano is her way of unwinding. She loves her vocal jazz class. As a role model, there is no one else to look up to than her mom. Meesha has one sister and three brothers. She plans on attending CEU, but has no plans to play sports while there.
Carbon High senior Parker Parsons is a power forward on the team. He plays no other organized sports but looks forward to wake boarding in the summer.
He also enjoys camping and working out on the trampoline.
He likes romantic dates.
His favorite class is work study.
Parker is not sure what he plans to do after high school yet.
Carbon High senior Danielle Martino is playing both forward and center for Carbon this year. She also plays middle on the volleyball squad and runs the 100 meter sprints, the 4 x 100 relay team and competes in the long and the high jump events.
Moto-cross and snowboarding are two other high intensity activities she loves. She is the oldest, with a brother and sister following. Drama is her favorite class. Danielle looks forward to attending the U of U to major in Physical Therapy.
Schyler Namanny is a senior on the basketball squad. He plays shooting guard on the team. He is an outfielder on the baseball team as well.
PE is his favorite subject in school. During the summer months he can be found water skiing. He is surrounded by 7 sisters and two brothers. The person he looks up to as a role model is his grandpa.
He plans on heading on a mission after graduation.
Amie Stewart is a senior guard on the basketball squad this year. Hurdles and the long jump are her specialty on the track team. On the volleyball team she plays outside hitter.
During the winter months she loves to snowboard. She also enjoys dance. She has a twin and they are the youngest of seven other siblings. She admires both her Dad and her brother. Her favorite class this year has been Foods.
Her goal is to attend CEU next year.
