Hanson receives commission

On October 15, 2005 Second Lieutenant Cami Hanson Strouse, a local resident of Price was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps.
LT Strouse attend nursing school at Westminster College where she completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. She was the winner for a 3-year Army ROTC Nursing Scholarship. Her military science training was conducted by the Army ROTC department at the University of Utah.
She was commissioned by Lieutenant Colonel Edwin L. Frederick, the Professor of Military Science at the University of Utah, at a ceremony held at Camp Williams. Her second lieutenant bars were pinned on by her mother and her husband, Jonathan Strouse. After 17 weeks of Army Nurse training in San Antonio, Texas she her husband, himself an active duty combat medic, and their baby girl will be permanently stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. where she will be working at the Madigan Army Medical Center.
