By Sun Advocate

Carbon did well in two diving meets this month as they near region and state competition the end of January and beginning of February.
On Jan. 7, the Carbon boys won a meet in Park City, edging Highland High School by two points in the competition.
Michael Glasson place fourth overall, while Jacob Perez took 10th, Travis Hobbs took 11th and Kent Olsen took 13th.
“Travis and Kent didn’t look as good at that meet as they have,” said Carbon diving coach Stewart Foster. “I am not sure why that was, but they just weren’t scoring as they have in the past.”
The girls team took seventh in the meet with both Chelsey Cloward and Katie Hobbs placing.
This past Saturday the teams both competed in another meet at Park City. Glasson placed third overall with his best score of the season of 326.65. Hobbs placed 10th with a personal best score of 247.20.
On the girls team Cloward placed 11th with a score of 248.25.
“At present I think the state crown is a toss up for the boys,” said Foster. “East and Highland High Schools have been at the top of the field this year with Riverton and Carbon High right behind them.
The Region meet will take place at South Summit High in Kamas on Jan. 27.
