Volunteers Needed – Stitches from the Heart needs volunteers to knit, crochet or quilt blankets, little sweaters and hats for babies in need. New Immunization Clinic Hours – beginning January 1 at the Southeastern Utah District Health Department Price Clinic only. Immunizations will be given Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will no longer be a Thursday morning or Friday afternoon immunization clinic.
Habitat for Humanity – of Castle Country, an affiliate of Carbon and Emery Counties, is building a wheelchair accessible house in Castle Dale. Donations to help finish the roof and buy shingles can be sent to HHCC, P.O. Box 724, Price, UT 84501. Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation – a non-profit group that helps injured and orphaned wildlife. Help is needed year-round for various projects. Volunteers Needed – Pro-Care (After School Program) is seeking volunteers to help out with daily activities and also substitute for regular VISTA workers when necessary. Volunteers Needed – Rocky Mountain Hospice – Faith in Action is looking for trusting, compassionate people to provide respite time for families of terminally ill patients. CASA Volunteers Needed – Each year hundreds of children in Carbon and Emery counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children. Utah Family Center Lending Library – to help parents including topics such as infant through adult literacy, discipline, children & teens mental health, bullying and much more. Foster Grandparents – Volunteers of America-Utah needs grandparents to join the Foster Grandparent Program team. Foster Grandparents receive a modest non-taxable stipend of about $200 per month. Individuals who are at least 60 years old; love children; have a limited income, and extra time to share may qualify. FGP volunteers serve 20 hours per week in local schools, and receive a daily meal, a yearly physical, accident and liability insurance while on duty, and transportation to and from the school. Parenting for Teens – The Family Support and Children’s Justice Center in Price offers a free class dealing with the issues, problems and difficulties facing teen parents. Carbon County Animal Shelter – AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Just bring in one can of food for each fine that is on your card. We will be doing this through January 9. All food collected goes to the local food bank. We are cleaning out our 2004 magazines, if you would like any of these old magazines come in and get them before January 6, 2006.
Family Support & Children’s Justice Center – offers crisis care for families with children from infants to 11 years old. Crisis nursery is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Families may use the nursery for respite, family crisis, court, doctors appointments, medical emergencies, mental health appointments, escaping family violence, attending parenting classes/divorce classes and AA/Narcotic Anonymous meetings.
