Each week during the basketball season the Sun Advocate highlights two players from the Carbon High girls and boys basketball teams.
Carbon High Freshman Ryan Rasmussen (14) has been playing basketball since the age of six. He plays at the guard and point guard positions for Carbon High. He is listed as 5′ 9″. He played last year for the Mont Harmon Pirates.
Ryan played both wide receiver and at the corner position in football this year. He plans on going out for the baseball team in the spring. Ryan is totally committed to sports at this time and has little in the way of outside interests.
His favorite class is math.
Ryan is the youngest of five kids. He has two older brothers and two older sisters.
He plans on attending Duke University when he graduates. If that plan doesn’t work his next choice is the University of Utah.
Carbon High Freshman Julie Potts loves basketball and volleyball.
Her heroes include Morgan Warburton and Cami Carlson.
Julie stands 5’7′ and plays the guard position for the Carbon High girls basketball team.
Her favorite subjects in school include both math and English.
She has not zeroed in on a particular college yet, but wants to be either a teacher or a physical therapist.
Julie has an older brother and sister as well as one younger sister.
Besides sports, Julie likes to sew.
Julie is also on the Carbon volleyball squad.
