Carbon boys 4-0 to start season

Swarming defense and hard nosed play exemplify this years Carbon Dino basketball squad.

The Carbon boys basketball team traveled to Grand Junction, Colo. to participate in the Central Tournament. The Dinos found the journey to be a positive experience claiming three victories. The squad is sporting a 4-0 record and is hungry for more.
Thursday afternoon saw Carbon defeat Central by 50-46. Brandon Wilson’s blocks of two shots in the final minutes helped Carbon secure the win. Chase Julian was hot from the free throw line, hitting five. Julian led the team with 17 points while Parker Parsons added 11.
Carbon took a decisive win over Palisade, Colo. 61-48 on Friday night. Bryan Gazell led the Dinos in scoring with 20 points. Team defense continues to be the strength of the team. Carbon took an early lead in the game and never looked back.
The final game against Grand Junction saw Chase Julian taking control. He again led the team scoring with 19 points. He went 8 for 8 from the line in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Dinos. The final score was Carbon 58, Grand Junction 55.
Union High will be the Dinos next opponent at Carbon High on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
