Stan Davis
PRICE – Stanley “Stan” P. Davis, age 88, died Nov. 17, 2005 in Price.
He was born March 29, 1917 in Scofield, to John Sr. and Jane Price Davis. Married Jewell Stone Jan. 2, 1946 in Price.
Stan was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and member of the Price Chapel-CMA Church of Price. He graduated from Carbon High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe.
Stan worked in various coal mines in the area prior to retiring from Kaiser Steel Local 9958 in 1979. He was a member of the UMWA for the past 70 years.
Stan loved to fish and hunt with his brothers, take rides to Scofield, and most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Stan especially loved going with the “Howa Boys” in the trucks.
Survived by wife, Jewell Davis; daughter, Linda (Bob) Howa; grandson, Robert Howa; granddaughter, Tiffany Howa; sister, Donna White, all of Price; brother, Bobby (Pat) Davis, Sun Valley, Ore.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Elmer) Heino, Helper; Loma Davis, Price; Gladys Wright, Bob (Irma) Stone; Gene (Ruby) Stone, all of West Frankford, Ill.; Jack (Pat) Stone, Marion, Ill.; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Bus and Earl; and sister, Ellen.
Funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 22, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Tuesday. Interment, Price City cemetery.
Robert Atwood
HELPER – Robert Delon Atwood returned to his Heavenly Father on Nov. 10, 2005.
He was born to Erma Bishop and F. Delon Atwood on March 24, 1955 in Price. He grew up in Wellington and married Susan Flaherty in 1977. He had one son, Steven Cloye.
Robert served as a police officer for Helper City for 15 years. He loved to teach the D.A.R.E. Program to the children of his community.
He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a kind hearted “gentle” man. He recently took up and enjoyed bowling. He was respected and liked by his coworkers and friends.
We will miss him dearly, but we know he is happier now and is in a much better place.
Robert is survived by son, Steven Cloye Atwood, mother, Erma (Atwood) Ball; four sisters, Carol Thayn, Shirley Atwood, of Wellington; Beverly Branch, Lynette Potts of Price. He was preceded in death by father, F. Delon Atwood.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 15. Burial, Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Genevive Meza-Mascarenas
PRICE – Rejoice and remember Genevive Molly Meza-Mascarenas, the loving daughter of Marlana Meza and Abel Mascarenas.
Grandparents are Henry and Dora Smith and Isaias and Mary Meza.
Graveside services for Genevive were Saturday, Nov. 12., at Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
