Connie Waddell releases a great-horned owl that had been in rehabilitation after an encounter with a car in October at Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation. Debbie Pappas who runs the center for injured birds said that the bird was reported injured on Oct. 6. She and a volunteer searched the roadside where the car hit the owl for about two hours before they found it that day. The bird had an injury to its left wing, torso and shoulder area. The release took place in the Farnum area near Wellington.
