David Thompson
CASTLE DALE/LOGAN – David Gentry Thompson, 27, passed away in his sleep on Oct. 20, 2005 at his home in Logan.
He was born Jan. 1, 1978 in American Fork to David George and Madelei Williams Thompson. He married Brionne Gayle Burt on Dec. 30, 2003 in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple.
Gentry was extremely dedicated to his educational pursuits. In May of 2001 he graduated from the College of Eastern Utah; and in May 2005, a bachelors of arts from Brigham Young University, a theater studies major. In the fall of 2005 he began working towards his masters of arts at Utah State University. He had a great love for the arts and was pursuing a career in theater. At the time of his passing, he was rehearsing to perform in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church and had served as a missionary for two years in the Nebraska-Omaha mission. Gentry was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. His life was his family and friends.
Gentry is survived by wife, Brionne; parents, David and Madelei Thompson; sisters, Eden (Jared) Steffey; Lara (Jacob) Barnett; and Megan (Jarett) Gilbert. He was adored by nephews, Landon and Jesse; and nieces, Kimberlyn, Alexis and Rebekah, whom he dearly loved.
Services were Monday, Oct. 24, noon, in the LDS Stake Center on Main Street, in Castle Dale. Interment, Castle Dale Cemetery.
Lyle Mower
SALT LAKE – Orson Lyle Mower, 90, our wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Oct. 20, 2005.
He was born Sept. 26, 1915 in Fairview, to Orson Cornelius and Eliza Glendora Ames Mower. He married Bessie Buchanan Tatton in Elko, Nev. Bessie preceded him in death.
Lyle worked for UDOT as a surveyor for 30 years.
A veteran of World War II, he was a first lieutenant and a B-17 bomber pilot. During the war he was a POW.
He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a gunsmith and a marksman who enjoyed hunting and camping. He taught hunter safety and loved baseball; his first love was flying airplanes. He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE 1550 in Price. Lyle’s family was his life, his pride and joy. He was most helpful and devoted to his neighbors.
Survived by son, Gary Mower; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Beth P. Walters, Salt Lake City; and brother, Leonard, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by wife, Bessie; brother, Earl; stepson, Michael and William “Bill” Tatton.
Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 28, 11 a.m., in the Draper 6th Ward LDS Chapel, 12870 S. 1300 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, Midvale, Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. or Friday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Manti City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Many thanks to the CNS nurses and the aids who did so much to care for Lyle in the last years of his life.
Chad Larsen
LAWRENCE – Chad William Larsen, 64, passed away at his home in Lawrence Oct. 22, 2005.
He was born Sept. 25, 1941 in Murray to Odell and Lucille Ewell Larsen. He married Sandra Park, later divorced. He then married Barbara T. Troester Nov. 4, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Chad enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, horse racing, roping, boating and mechanics. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survived by wife, Barbara T. Larsen of Lawrence; children, Shane (Colleen) Larsen, Shaunda Larsen, both of Lawrence; Sandra Tanner, Kenneth, Korinne and Kelly, all of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Marilyn (Tom) Godfrey of Maui, Hawaii; Dixie Kirgan of Mesquite, Nev.; and brother, Richard Lamar Larsen of Lawrence. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Sandra Kay Larsen; brother, Kenneth Larsen; and sister, Shirley Carpenter.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Garden, 1950 E. 10600 South, Draper.
Anita Arballo
SUNNYSIDE – Anita Marie Arballo, age 45, passed away Oct. 23, 2005 at her home in Sunnyside.
Born Nov. 3, 1959 in Beverly Hill, Calif., to Arvid and Emma Bea McCloud Theorine. Married George Arballo Aug. 4, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Anita had a love for life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, swimming, playing darts and eating spaghetti. She had a great love for roses and her special friend, Cheyenne Marie Colcord.
Survived by mother, Bea Callor, Price; husband, George Arballo, Sunnyside; brother, Jim Theorine, Price; sister, Pam Napier, Biloxi, Miss.; aunts and uncles, Tom (Norma) Boralho, Sun City, Calif.; Murel (Marie) Thomas, Oreville, Calif.; Thurman (Jeanne) McCloud, Winchester, Calif.; Lil McCloud, Coos Bay, Ore.; nieces and nephews, Billy Colcore, Salt Lake City; Iki Theorine, Biloxi, Miss.; James Theorine II, Malia Theorine, Juan Theorine, all of Price; Chris Colcord, Alex Colcore, Gulfport, Miss.; and two great nieces and two great nephews. Preceded in death by father, Arvid Theorine; and stepfather, Jack “Papa” Callor.
Funeral service Thursday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Mitchell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 490, Price, UT 84501.
