The Utah State Juvenile Court honored Dave Babcock on October 12 by presenting him with a Restorative Justice award. Babcock was presented the award by Dan Becker the Utah State Court Administrator and was one of 10 individuals or organizations to receive the honor.
Babcock was nominated by the Seventh District Court for his contributions to the Community Service Work Program throughout southeastern Utah.
Babcock is employed with the Utah Department of Transportation as maintenance area supervisor.
The state employee began his career with UDOT in 1975 and his duties involve managing all roadway operations of the northern portion of the Price district, which includes U.S. Highway 6 and State Road 10.
The juvenile court indicated that Babcock was very instrumental in the development and implementation of a contract between UDOT and the Seventh District Juvenile Court which provides financial support to the service program.
Some of the projects that have been completed are gutter cleanup, culvert excavation, painting buildings, washing of vehicles and roadside litter removal.
Babcock was raised in the Carbon County area and has two daughters. He and his wife, Gaye, reside in Spring Glen.
